Contemporary Dance Technique Classes
The 2017 DANCE ACTION LAB

Advance Registration Now Open!

Dancers’ Studio West is proud to announce registration for its 2017 Dance Action Lab Classes.

Classes are taught by Artistic Director Davida Monk who emphasizes choreographic sensibilities, musicality, expression and performance. She brings her background in Mitzvah Technique and principles in athletic centering and power for a rigorous morning class, ideal for any professional or emerging dancer.

These classes begin with simple motifs that introduce movement ideas and warm-up the body and mind, and move through relatively more complex patterns. Choreographed phrases explore the elements of technical vocabulary in a contemporary aesthetic, emphasizing the dancers use of flow, attack, precision and release.  Davida Monk

Weekday morning classes are offered for seven weeks as part of the Dance Action Lab. While class is a requirement for the participants of these programs, classes are open to Calgarys full dance community, including emerging and senior dancers.
